Payette's' School of Art

I discovered my artistic abilities at a very young age. As a youth I blossomed in the performing arts realm, eventually opening up my own dance studio which is still running 35 years later. I have always painted as a way to express the many facets of my life. The world is an amazing place and I want to be able to share my perspective. My favorite subject matter is nature.  I work in mixed media to create motion, color, and joy throughout my paintings. Some are hand sculpted and painted with oil for a Three dimensional look. Others are resin and acrylic in which I hand pour to create the subject matter. Dimension and flow are very important to me.  I also enjoy embellishing my paintings with gemstones and other materials like piano keys, porcelain hands or glass to create a bit of reality and yet leaving some chaos for the imagination. You never know what you might find in one of my creations. Community is an important part of my creative process which is why I also teach children’s art to introduce them to many different mediums. The idea is to teach potential artist basic fundamentals and open the door of artistic expression. Art has the ability to improve anyone’s outlook in life through self-expression.

Payette’s Jewelry

I began creating jewelry as a teenager with my mother in the early 70’s. I worked for several jewelry stores while honing my skills and creativity. I developed a lucrative line of jewelry that I sold to workers during the construction of the Alaska pipe line. All of my current work consists of sterling silver and gemstones. In the past ten years I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel and collaborate with prospectors in many different states. By directly working with claim owners I have access to stones that are not available to the public. One of my favorite stones is the beautiful Nevada Variscite. I personal mine, select, and cut the majority of my stones, which gives me the ability to create a unique jewelry line and bring my artistic dreams to life.
